From Chris, a Jazz Jam participant (pictured):

I had a great time fulfilling a dream to play drums in a jazz setting. We played some standards and there was plenty of soloing for each member.  I've played at jams at bars before, but they can sometimes seem intimidating and too loud. The Studio 99 jam made me feel as if I've known the other players for years. Any nervous jitters I may have had quickly dissipated.  It was a very welcoming, non-intimidating setting to play in.  There were no ego trips and no show-boating.  I believe the setting of the Studio (as opposed to a bar or lounge) is very conducive to playing jazz and allowing the exchange and interaction of musical ideas.  I would definitely recommend to musicians and jazz listeners / enthusiasts to hear and see it for themselves.

Other comments from musicians:

Very welcoming atmosphere for newbies and experienced players!  (Marje, flutist)

Whether you're coming to listen or jam...a relaxed atmosphere.” (Gretchen, vocalist)

Fantastic musicians; varied repertoire; kind and receptive people. (Bob, drummer)

“Great ensemble playing, great listeners!  A wonderful variety of tunes." (Dan, bassist)
