Drum Jams/Circles/Sessions allow everyone, regardless of past musical experience, to participate in creating music together. The simplest rhythm patterns can start with one person, the next person adds another repeating pattern, and it just grows from there. The combination of individual creativity with engagement with the group can make it a very moving experience.

We plan on having expert guest percussionists who will facilitate the Jams from time to time, but for our first meeting, we'll keep it very simple...some "call and response" and some layered free-form playing. Elise is only a moderately experienced hand drummer, so we'll be keeping this very straightforward!
If you have a djembe, conga, bongo drum(s), etc., please bring them along. If you have more than one drum, please bring them along, as well --- we'd be so thankful! We will have a few extras onhand, as well.
