Blues and Jazz Jams will now be on separate evenings

We've had a combined Jazz and Blues Jam every month since we first opened last summer.  There are lots of people who want to play primarily by ear, and others who enjoy playing jazz tunes from sheet music/charts.  Even though both styles are complimentary in may ways, in an effort to serve both groups, we're now offering two separate jams:

Jazz Jam:  First Wednedays, 7 pm - 9 pm

Blues Jam:  Fourth Wednesdays, 7 pm - 9 pm

There is a requested $5 "cash in the hat" donation for each Jam; audience members are always welcome, free of charge.

Via Meetup.com, I recently received this message and thou it might be of interest:

Musical Soup is a radio program that will broadcast out of the North Shore area and reaches from southern NH to the top half of Cape Cod. The program will highlight emerging and under-exposed musical artists and producers across a range of genre' from Techno to Rock to Classical to World Music. This group is particularly interested in exploring and expanding the awareness of all musical forms that proliferate a sense of humanity, music that moves us forward in any way or tells a story of love, brother/sisterhood and/or spiritual growth/enlightenment.

Please join us if you are a singer/songwriter, music producer, have or want to have your music recorded, want to have your music aired on an AM format. The organizer is interested in receiving CDs of your good quality musical recordings along with a bio of you and/or your musical group.

The intent is to network your individual or group talents with the appropriate partners to accomplish your musical goals and let the world know you're out there. Tell all of your musically inclined associates about us. The more the bettter as we want to showcase all of the exciting musical expressions we can accomodate.

More buzz on stephaniesid, Sunday 5/3/09 @ 8

From NH.Com:

stephanieisid make their NH debut

Asheville indie-pop combo stephaniesid make their NH debut on Sunday, May 3 with a show at Studio 99 in Nashua. the show is at 8pm, tickets are $7.

This tour is in support of the band's soon-to-be-released new full-length record Warm People (May 19th). the new record will be available at the show on CD and 180 gram clear red vinyl.

stephaniesid have long been regional favorites in WNC, having been voted by Mountain Xpress Weekly readers as "Best Indie Rock Band" for three years running, and often selling out shows in Western North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Their last release, 2007's Grus americanus, gained a fair amount of national attention via superb reviews on NPR, HARP Magazine, Filter, The Big Takeover, and dozens of weeklies and dailies around the country.

stephaniesid listing as the "sleeper act" at last year's Bonnaroo Festival, along with song placements in the International Banff Mountain Festival Tour and the upcoming new Showtime Series Nurse Betty, have also set the band up for a national breakthrough on this new record.

"... a rather transcendent set.  The band was different, melodic, quirky, and just plain good... a sleeper act which hit the mark with an almost Bjorklike panache.  Ah, Iceland... again."
